April 2017 | Museum of Fine Arts, Boston | 35mm Film Photography & GIF Animation
m. f. a. (or memory forgets all) explores the mind's tendency to deviate from reality and its ongoing interaction with the surrounding space.
In this project, black-and-white film images and animated illustrations work together to visualize a museum trip. While the film images document the museum space's form and texture, the playful illustrations seek to capture the mind's immediate (and perhaps wild) response to these images. Memory is therefore neither entirely reliable nor fictional, but rests somewhere in-between reality and imagination.
